According to the National Cancer Institute, cigarette smoking causes 87 percent of lung cancer deaths and is responsible for most cancers of the larynx, oral cavity and pharynx, esophagus and bladder. Although quitting the habit seems a simple solution, the highly addictive nature of nicotine makes that an overwhelming challenge for many smokers. There are however, many resources available to assist patients through the process of quitting. Some of those resources include:
