Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies that test whether new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer are safe and effective. These clinical trials, also called clinical studies or research protocols, are conducted by physicians with people who volunteer to take part. Frequently, they give patients access to potentially helpful therapies not widely available elsewhere.

These are some resources where you can find out more information about clinical trials in general and various types of cancer clinical trials:
- At the Library in the Community Cancer Center
- In the 'Learning About Clinical Trials' section of the National Cancer Institute Web site
